Atheists, i have a question about the definition of atheism, and references from other questions/answers?
So in this question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index; _ylt=AqUJCI5pLotpmjQjALs_f_bsy6IX;_ylv=3 ?qid=20091007010224AA2VP6Z
One has stated that an atheist can believe in a leprechaun, however cannot believe in a god deity.
And then others have confirmed that statement. With answers in the question link above.
Based upon that claim, the traditional American leprechaun falls under the definition of deity based upon definitions of deity given by some in this question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index; _ylt=Aj.MwEOUh4ut9O6cSLI0rgnsy6IX;_ylv=3 ?qid=20091007014011AAwvrYz
A leprechaun falls under several definitions of deity, however many have stated an atheist can believe in a leprechaun. Before which people have stated you cannot believe in a deity if you are an atheist.
How does this circular logic work?
"An atheist can believe in a leprechaun if they don’t believe leprechauns are gods. It’s really that simple."
The traditional definition of leprechaun, would indicate all the characteristics needed to make it a deity, meaning you have just made a contradiction.

One of a race of elves in Irish folklore who can reveal hidden treasure to those who catch them.
[Irish Gaelic luprachan, alteration of Middle Irish luchrupan, from Old Irish luchorpan : luchorp (lu-, small + corp, body , from Latin corpus) + -an, diminutive suff.]
Treasure by which is produced by the leprechaun, "enchanted treasure". It controls and manipulates this treasure.
In many shows, movies. Leprechauns are depicted to create objects out of thin air. Such as christianity claims God can do.
Faith is needed to believe the leprechaun is going to show them his gold, though without evidence to show he even has gold.
The leprechaun is the son of an "evil spirit" and a "degenerate fairy.
ATHEIST MEANS JUST WHAT IT SAYS. A-THEIST. A-LEPRECHANS DONT BELIEVE IN LEPRECHANS.
